History

  • The Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation, Inc. (SLTCFI) is a non-stock, non-profit educational institution, recognized and accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Education (DepEd).
  • The school was founded by Engr. Edgar B. Quinto in 1990, registered and obtained its juridical personality upon granting the SEC Registration Number 174992. The school operates on the philosophy, “education should be affordable to all who wants to improve their economic status in life”. Having the aim of helping the poor Bicolanos, SLTCFI has created quality and best affordable computer education that would nurture the skills and cure the illiteracy of the youth.
  • Initially the school offered tutorial programs but eventually in 1994, the Two-Year Computer Technician (COMTECH) and Computer-Aided Architectural Drafting Technology (CADDTECH) courses were offered. In the following year, Two-Year Computer Secretarial has been offered. The first batch of COMTECH and CADDTECH graduates was produced in 1996. This small group of graduates was doubled in 1997 with the rigorous effort of the people behind the institution, the school has added Two-Year Computer Programming (COMPROG) course in 2000 and One-Year Computer Technician (COMTECH) in 2001.
  • In 2003, the institution was awarded as the 8th Most Outstanding SME Graduate Sulong Pinoy Program at Ceremonial Hall of Malacañang Palace.
  • SLTCFI first opened its doors to local and international IT industry partners back in 2004 when it tied up with the US Auto Parts Network, a US-based firm, via its Philippine arm MBS Tek Corporation, to provide back -office support for web development, online web marketing, content copy writing and customer service.
  • In 2007, SLTCFI established its own 26-seat call center facility which hosted accounts for Call Converge, AT&T, Merchants/Cash Advance, Freeway/HIPP, Hikari, Motion and Airnex Telecommunications and Consumer National. As a training school and an industry itself, SLTCFI through People2Outsource (P2O) supplies manpower to various call center companies like Convergys, HTMT, NuComm, Telus, IBM, PLDT, Link2Outsource, Accenture and SITEL. It also directly provides manpower for Advanced Contact Solutions and Cybercity.
  • The institution also handled legal transcription services on a subcontract basis, providing clients with accurate, top-quality, and timely legal transcribed reports with its 30 highly-trained legal transcriptionists and 10 quality assurance specialists. With these years of industry experience coupled with the ability to continuously synergize innovative technological solutions and high-end approach for manpower training, SLTCFI has solidified its position in the IT-BPO sector.
